kelido camera

these are a selection of the first publicly exhibited abstract photographs in the history of art. vortographs by alvin langdon coburn, photographer attributed to the vorticist movement shown in london 1917. coburn used a 'vortoscope' (an attachment to his camera made from three mirrors placed in the shape of a triangle) to capture these beautifully angular, graphic works.

a stunning show, spanning a life time of work.

from the surreal and contemplative to the raw and violent abstraction, miró mastered many mediums and was truly and great experimenter and inspiration.

hankie chief

a call to competition, design a handkerchief to be exhibited and sold at the london printworks trust brixton. a great opportunity to get messy, start drawing and get printing. established with beautiful designs like the rabbit themed one above, illustrated by artist in residence sophie herxheimer. so send in your design by september 30th, more details on the ltp blog.

for a good cause

my brother along with friends chris and ewan is currently in romania, on his way to mongolia. this summer the group are taking part in the mongol rally, driving from britain through europe and beyond to finish in mongolia. its all for charity (and a bit of adventure). they are raising money for the bristol based charity above and beyond, international disaster response charity mercy corps and mongolian childrens charity christina noble children's foundation.

so to make sure they all left looking smart i printed the team a few t-shirts with their team logo on the front, i don't think they will come back looking so clean...

amazingly vibrate with painterly touches every where, i had the real feeling of snooping around a studio. getting up close to designs so familiar was very special.
